Mein persönliches Resümee zur Lehrveranstaltung
Die Lehrveranstaltung von Barbara O’Connor erlaubte viel Freiraum für Diskussionen, Fragen und eigene Meinung. Gerade auch da sie keine Österreicherin ist, war sie neugierig auf unsere Kultur und unser Verständnis von Kultur. Mit ihrer sympathischen Art und ihrem leicht verständlichen British English waren anfängliche sprachliche Hemmungen schnell vergessen.
Die einzelnen Studierenden und ihre Projekte wurden sehr positiv angenommen und individuell betreut – inhaltlich wie auch methodisch. Dadurch haben wir von ihrer großen Erfahrung in der Forschung profitiert.
Inhaltlich hat die Lehrveranstaltung bei den Studierenden ein Bewusstsein dafür geschaffen, wie viele Phänomene in unserer Gesellschaft als Kultur betrachtet werden können und dass wir alle Produzentinnen und Produzenten von Kultur sind. Obwohl Barbara O’Connor viele Beispiele brachte und auch von Seiten der Studierenden sehr unterschiedliche Themenvorschläge für die Abschlussarbeit kamen, konnten sie doch alle anhand des Circuit of Culture analysiert werden.
