Recht auf die Stadt – Soziale Bewegungen in umkämpften Räumen

Unter dem Stichwort „Right to the City“ (Mitchel 2003)star (* 29 ) konstituieren sich weltweit neue städtische Protestbewegungen, die gegen die neoliberale Hegemonie eigene Ansprüche an den städtischen Entwicklungen einfordern. Die Aktivitäten und Forderungen, die sich auf ein „Recht auf Stadt“ beziehen, sind dabei sehr vielfältig: In New Orleans fordern die MieterInnen der Sozialwohnungssiedlungen die Rückkehr in ihre preiswerten Wohnungen (Jakob/Schorb 2008)star (* 20 ), in Madrid protestieren Sexarbeiterinnen und BewohnerInnen gegen die Verdrängung aus ihrem Stadtteil (Künkel 2011)star (* 22 ), in Istanbul wehrte sich eine Roma-Nachbarschaft gegen den Abriss einer ganzen Siedlung (Tan 2009)star (* 33 ), in kleineren deutschen Städten wie Wuppertal mobilisieren breite Bündnisse gegen das kommunale Spardiktat und in Hamburg besetzten KünstlerInnen die letzten historischen Gebäude im Gängeviertel, um die Neubaupläne eines Investors zu verhindern. Kaum ein Stadtprotest der letzten Jahre, der nicht auf die Parole Recht auf Stadt zurückgriff. Wie ist diese hohe und auch internationale Attraktivität für ein Recht auf Stadt zu erklären und welche Potenziale birgt der Ansatz für städtische soziale Bewegungen?
