Shushan Avagyan | Participate

is the translator of I Want to Live: Poems of Shushanik Kurghinian (AIWA 2005), and three books by Viktor Shklovsky, Energy of Delusion: A Book on Plot (Dalkey Archive 2007), Bowstring: On the Dissimilarity of the Similar (Dalkey Archive 2011), and A Hunt for Optimism (Dalkey Archive 2013). She is the author of the novel Girk-anvernagir (PrintInfo 2005). She received her PhD from Illinois State University in 2012 and currently teaches at the American University of Armenia. Her work focuses on translation and representations of trauma in African American and Armenian American literatures.
